Each Holiday Season, the YWCA of Calgary transforms their gymnasium into “Hamper Headquarters.” Volunteers and donors come together to brighten the holidays for over 240 women and families experiencing financial hardship, most with a history of poverty and domestic violence.

The number of Calgarians in-need is growing rapidly, and putting tremendous pressure on organizations like the YWCA to deliver during the holidays. We rely heavily on the help of corporate and individual donors and are extremely grateful to all those who have come to our aid throughout the year.

The Holiday Hamper matches women and families from YWCA programs with donors from the community. Donors are required to provide $100 worth of gifts and $100 worth of grocery vouchers and non-perishable food items for each member of their adopted family.
